How to use this app

• Set parameters: Choose the number of objects to be presented on the screen, and the number of "target present" and "target absent" trials.
• Pick stimuli: Choose the number of targets and distractors. Targets and Distractors can come from the researchers' computer (“Use image on my computer”) or one of the preset images (“Use preset image”, there are lots of them that you can scroll through using your mouse). On "target present" trials, one target will be randomly selected. Distractors will be randomly sampled from the distractor set. "Target present" and "Target absent" trials will be randomly intermixed.
• Creating your own experiment: You can create your own experiment to share with others by setting up a condition, adding it to a list of conditions to run as separate blocks ("add condition"), and saving all of the conditions into a file ("Save Conditions") that can be shared with participants who will load them ("Load Conditions") and then run the experiment ("Run Full Experiment"). For a quick start, you can setup a single search task, and then run it by clicking "Run This Condition"
• During each block: Participants will see key instructions (F key = target is absent, J key = target is present) and images of targets/distractors. If an experiment has multiple conditions to it, they will be randomly ordered for participants. At the end of each block, participants will see their overall response time and accuracy.
• Finish: The participant can choose to save their data either to their own computer or an OSF archive at https://osf.io/rbjpe/files/osfstorage
